Work Programme - Target Group & Key Actors

The target audiences for the project are the key actors in the bio-fuels supply chain; public authorities as a target user group, energy agencies as key facilitators, technical experts through consultancies/research organisations, farmers as bio-fuel producers and distribution companies.  

The supply chain actors
The supply chain actors include:

  • Farmers

  • Oil collection companies

  • Bio-fuel equipment manufacturing companies

  • Bio-fuel production companies or co-operatives

  • Fuel distributors and retailers

The supply chain actors will be involved in the project through the development of local supplier networks and the capacity building activities within these networks which include:

  • Networking and information exchange between members of the local networks and across the EC with other project partners;

  • Training and awareness raising activities with members of the networks;

  • Feasibility studies, local production capacity and possible support mechanisms

The end users
The user chain actors include

  • Local Authorities

  • Other public sector organisations such as police, and hospital fleets

  • Schools

  • Small and Medium Enterprises

The public sector will be involved as the key user group of bio-fuels in public sector transport fleets. Public sector organisations included in the project are city authorities, public transport operators and regional agencies.  The public sector actors will be involved in the project as:

  • Direct partners;

  • Members of the supplier networks;

  • The main target group for the user awareness raising activities.
